RICE PUDDING

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (470 ml) rice
  • 4 cups (950 ml) milk
  • 4 cups (950 ml) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground cloves or 6 whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) grated fresh nutmeg
  • 4 oz (110 gr) butter
  • 1 cup (235 ml) raisins

Preparation

Cook rice uncovered in 8 cups of water for 45 minutes until rice is quite soft.

Stir in other ingredients and simmer for 1/2 hour.

Serve warm, or refrigerate at least four hours to serve cold.
