PINO EMPANADA FILLING

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 lbs ground beef
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 large onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • Black olives
  • 1 diced hard-boiled egg

Preparation

Saute the onion in olive oil and add the garlic.

Once the onions are translucent add the beef and brown.

While browning, add the salt, sugar, spices, and bay leaf.

Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.

Remove the bay leaf, and add olives and raisins.

The pino filling can be then be used to make empanadas.
