BROWNIES II

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Salt

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 170°C.

In a medium-size bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and 3 dashes of salt.

Melt butter in a small saucepan. Mix in sugar and 2 tbsp water. Bring to a boil.

Remove saucepan from the heat. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and vanilla essence. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth.

Beat in the eggs. Incorporate flour mixture bit by bit, stirring continuously. Add remaining chips and nuts and stir lightly.

Grease a 22cm baking pan. Pour in mixture.

Bake 30-35 minutes or until the top of the brownies springs lightly when touched.

Remove from oven and let cool before cutting into squares.
