Few restaurants in the United States have been so warmly accepted over the years as the far-famed "Pea Soup Andersen's" in the little town of Buellton. California, just north of Santa Barbara. What magic has attracted millions of people to its tables? Why do travelers, who have once visited Andersen's make a point of returning, though they must drive miles after hunger begs them to stop? The delicious Split Pea Soup? Yes, but it's much more than that, for Pea Soup Andersen's has a spirit of wholesome family warmth which draws people again and again through its doors. Long time "pea soupers" whose families brought them first to Andersen's are now bringing their children and their children's children! On June 13, 1999 we celebrated our 75th anniversary and we continue to be a part of California's rich history and future. In the tradition of "Andersen's Electric Cafe", our restaurant has been the favorite of salesmen, tourists and truck drivers for years. Our main dining room has an old fachioned feel of warmth, with rough-hewn beams and chandeliers. While you are here, you can check out memorabilia chronicling the history of Andersen's and the town of Buellton. You are invited to dine in the light and airy Pavilion Room with scenic views of the gardens. This is a very relaxing place to have a Sunday afternoon luncheon with friends. After your meal, stop in at our bakery and pick up a special taste treat for the road or to take home. We specialize in freshly baked pastries that will please your pallet. Welcome! Because Andersen's is located conveniently near freeways, hotels and tourist attractions, we are a natural choice for hosting your meetings and special events. We have a variety of settings to choose, from the Banquet Bar which can seat 245 people to the Juliette Room, the picture of elegance! Our gardens are an ideal setting for weddings and receptions.
